What was your first job as a journalist?
I have been a volunteer socio-politcal commentator for 25-years. I have a pretty good day job.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I gave my Correcting Selectric away about a year ago after not having used it since 1995.
How is social media changing news?
Apparently Google was worth 15-million votes in 2016, or so I hear.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
Be objective, verify sources, and adhere to a style.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
In writing.

Why did you become a journalist?
Looking for a hobby, and I like to drink wine and travel.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I took one semester and it was very educational. The simplicity of 4Ws and and an H.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I've only published a dozen or so, i have a regular job. I did a story on a local restaurateur that is the top of the heap in my market.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Stay ahead of technology.

I can't remember his name, it has been a while, but I lost $1,500.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Too many in my field, none in Journalism.
What's your favorite drink?
Cabernet Sauvignon
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Watching Euro Cop Shows on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Wine and cooking shows on You Tube have recently taken my attention.....

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That it is all opinion and smoke and mirrors.
