Image by Gerd Altmann Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self. There is an innate balance in life... night and day, sun and clouds, or sun and rain. And in our own lives, we also seek, and hopefully create, balance... between work and play, alone time and communal time, joy and contemplation, being energetic or being at rest... and on and on. The US Is Seriously Wasting Its Poverty Tax Dollars. Why? Original
The United States, despite being one of the world's wealthiest nations, suffers from a high poverty rate compared to other advanced democracies. This issue is deeply rooted in the country's economic system, leading to significant income inequality and a concentration of wealth among a small percentage of the population. The low minimum wage exacerbates this situation, making it challenging for low-income workers to provide for themselves and their families.

Image by chiplanay and border by Gordon Johnson Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self. The only constant is change. And that is wonderful news as it gives us the opportunity, constantly, to reinvent ourselves and our world. No matter the mess we have gotten ourselves into, whether personally or globally, because change is always happening, there is hope. As long as we don't give up. As long as we don't think it can't be done.

How to Recognize and Throw off Self-Defeating Behaviors
Once upon a time, a baby elephant was chained to a stake in the ground. The chain was only a few feet long, so the baby elephant could only walk around in a circle around the stake. As the days went by, he tried to pull and tug at the chain, but it was too strong. Eventually, he gave up and accepted its limited range of movement. Years passed, and the baby elephant grew into a strong adult elephant. Even though the elephant was now strong enough to break free from the chain, it never tried to do so.

Clarence Thomas Under Fire for Financial Ties
The latest on Clarence Thomas's financial ties to right-wing donors is that the Supreme Court Justice has refused to recuse himself from cases involving his financial backers. This has led to calls for his impeachment and calls for an investigation into his financial dealings. In April 2023, ProPublica reported that Thomas had accepted luxury trips from Harlan Crow, a right-wing Texas billionaire, almost yearly.

El Niño Likely: Will Temperatures Rise to 1.5C Soon?
On April 16, 2023, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued an El Niño Watchas part of its April ENSO outlook. This watch indicates that conditions are favorable for developing an El Niño event within the next six months, between May and July 2023. The El Niño Watch comes after nearly two straight years of La Niña conditions, which have had their climatic impacts. Currently, we are in an ENSO-neutral phase, meaning neither El Niño nor La Niña is present.

Loan originator non-QM opportunities
In today's market, refinancing’s have limited availability and there’s not much new housing inventory to lend against. For mortgage brokers, this means the obvious; there are a lack of transactions in the market to profit from. The included playbook has detailed product offerings that you can use today inside your Brokerage. For shops that are only doing refinance or traditional mortgages, opportunities only come around every 5-7 years. You’ve got to have a big client base to have volume.
SIN Centers: An Investment in Ideas
Today's entrepreneurs are developing new ideas, patents, systems, and technologies that could have a profound and sustainable impact on our ability to promote the next generation of green supply chains. For many of them, however, progress is slowed or halted by a lack of reliable funding and effective economic development programs. Every day, more foreign companies file U.S. patents for green and sustainable technology innovations. We must innovate if we wish to thrive.

He was saving his real name — Theodor Seuss Geisel — for serious work, the Great American Novel. So he signed his cartoons with aliases: Quincy Quilp. Dr. Xavier Ruppzkopff. Dr. Theophrastus Seuss. But “he finally settled on just plain Dr. Seuss,” writes Robert Cahn in The Saturday Evening Post’s first interview with Geisel in 1957 — 30 years after Geisel’s first cartoon appeared in the magazine in 1927. After that first interview, the Post would check in with the author every 10 years until 1977.
