Bulls Gap racer Bob Edens named a 2021 Volunteer Speedway HOF inductee

Bobby Edens of Bulls Gap was among the racers inducted into the 2021 Volunteer Speedway Hall of Fame class this past Saturday at the track. Edens got his start in racing at Davy Crockett Speedway in the old Volkswagen class and once Volunteer Speedway opened, he drove in the 6-Cylinder division for Lee Wheeler. Edens eventually moved up to racing Late Models and was always known for his tenacity behind the wheel "smashing the loud pedal" and pushing the race car to - and beyond - its limit.

Rogersville racer David Bundren among Volunteer Speedway's 2021 HOF inductees

Rogersville racer David Bundren's stellar 25-year racing career was honored Saturday when he was indicted among Volunteer Speedway's Class of 2021 Hall of Fame inductees David was "born for speed" and first got behind the wheel of a race car in his hometown at Davy Crockett Speedway in 1973. When Volunteer Speedway opened one year later he began writing his name in the track's record books. David was a force to be reckoned with anytime Bundren Racing pulled into the pits for a night of racing.
