Advocates in Louisville say more money is needed to address the city’s affordable housing crisis and they’re pushing Metro Council to put more funding into next year’s budget. Metro Council members are hammering out the details of a final budget proposal this week. They’ll take a final vote on June 25, enacting the fiscal year 2026-27 budget that goes into effect on July 1. Currently, the budget proposal includes tens of millions in funding for affordable housing and homelessness.
