Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yup! And I thought I was soooo fancy when I upgraded from my sister's hand-me-down manual typewriter to an electric.
How is social media changing news?
It's making us more aware of people, events and circumstances we may not have otherwise known about and shaping our experience of the world.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To learn about people and events in ways that broaden one's perspective. To inspire and inform.

Why did you become a journalist?
To discover, to learn and to inform.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked at my college newspaper The Daily Pennsylvanian. I was a photographer and photo night editor. I loved being in the dark room!
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My interview with Tanya Selvaratnam on her activism and her arts-based coalition The Federation.

Bloody Mary
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Drinking a glass of wine in my garden or with friends.
