How to avoid collisions in laser cutting
Modern fiber lasers cut extraordinarily quickly, but is their output stable and predictable? The process creates a lot of kinetic energy, which in turn creates the potential for pieces to tip or fly up and interfere with the fast-moving cutting head—one of the most sensitive parts of the entire machine. If a head crashes because a slug from a previously cut internal feature tipped or flipped on top of the sheet, the process isn’t stable.
