Robin Schatz’s Biography

I'm a prize-winning journalist who has worked in multiple media platforms as a writer, editor and video producer. I’ve worked for two global news organizations and have extensive experience editing reporters in Latin America, Europe and Asia. I've mentored and trained young journalists over the past decade in the workplace and at two universities. Before joining the faculty of Fordham University as a visiting lecturer for the 2011-2012 school year, I worked as an editor, writer and TV producer at Bloomberg News for almost nine years, most recently working with writers on the healthcare and education teams.

As an editor, I’m an adept project manager and careful wordsmith, skilled at working in a team environment. I played an important role in preparing the investigative series “Education Inc.,” a finalist for a 2011 Pulitzer Prize and the winner of numerous awards, including a George Polk award and a Gerald Loeb award.

I stepped back from the world of real-time journalism to share my expertise with students and absolutely love working with them. I've learned so much by stepping out of the fray for a while.

My latest group at Fordham University, includes four professional ballet dancers, and believe it or not, they are doing great!
