He also played a pivotal role on the Cornell Interfraternity Council (IFC) as the VP of Membership and Alumni Development. His tenure here marked notable accomplishments, including the development and implementation of a Hazing Prevention Training program. Rocco's leadership was further tested and proven following a critical incident of a drug overdose within the IFC community. His swift action led to the implementation of Narcan Training for all fraternity chapters—a first for Cornell—demonstrating his ability to respond effectively to emergencies and spearhead proactive health and safety initiatives.
When faced with serious allegations of sexual misconduct within the fraternity community, he was instrumental in convening an emergency IFC board meeting that resulted in a pause on all fraternity social events. He played a crucial role in developing a Sexual Violence Prevention Plan, addressing immediate safety concerns, and aiming to instill a long-term cultural change across the fraternity landscape at Cornell.
In addition to his fraternity leadership, DeLorenzo served as the Vice President of Finance on the Cornell Student Assembly, where he adeptly managed the complexities of student activity fees. Under his stewardship, he developed the innovative "Student Activity Fee Price Index" to align fee adjustments with the actual economic pressures impacting student organizations, thereby ensuring a fair and sustainable financial model.
