In the past 20 years, the Latinx small pet owner population has grown from 11.4 million to 20.4 million1. The large influx of the Latinx and/or Hispanic pet owner demographic has, in turn, led animal hospitals to try to navigate client communication through a language barrier without a 3rd party translating service. 239 animal hospitals were contacted in the state of Minnesota, and were categorized as either urban or rural, determined by population size, and divided by county.
