By Roger Green After reviewing the results of the June, 23 Democratic primary, an historic event that exposed the fragility of the traditional Black political establishment, I am roused to recall a meeting that I and the late Assemblyman Albert Vann had with the iconic Pan Africanist and human rights leader Kwame Toure (AKA Stokely Carmichael). This engagement occurred in 1982, seventeen years after Kwame released his groundbreaking book with Charles V.

Here’s the story of the unsent photo. I’ve stated many times that one of the primary reasons I started blogging was because I was terrible at keeping track of my daughter’s first couple of years in that baby book that almost every parent is gifted, including us. You know, the date of the first step, the first tooth. I do recall that she began cruising before she reached eight months; that was a term I had never heard before becoming a parent.

For the First Friday in December 2024, we performed Johann Sebastian Bach’s Magnificat, directed by our choir director, Michael Lister, in the church’s sanctuary.
