Time to bin this negativity with Newcastle United
These are challenging times supporting Newcastle United. I sympathise with all fans, whether you still go to games or have called enough is enough. Personally, I decided to still go and stick it out. Having seen all five games so far, I have to say that it has been pretty rubbish. I enjoyed my day out at Tottenham (superb new stadium!) as I do all trips to London but even that match wasn’t brilliant from a football perspective.

Keep him or Dump him: Shane Vereen
Shane Vereen was touted as more than just a running back when he signed a three-year, $12.35 million contract with the Giants prior to the 2015 season. They felt they were getting a weapon - someone who could be a versatile runner, a receiver out of the backfield, and even a deep threat who could be split wide. Thought it wasn't all his fault, his explosive potential never really materialized. In 2015 he totaled just 754 yards.
Bryant: Beckham is 'extremely misunderstood'
Dez Bryant has created his share of unwanted headlines over the years, both on the field and off. Maybe that's why he's forged a bond with Giants receiver Odell Beckham. It's surely why Bryant, the Cowboys star receiver, insists that Beckham is "extremely misunderstand." The two spotlight-loving receivers have apparently put their friendship on display this week as they prepare for the Pro Bowl on Sunday night in Orlando.
How close are the Giants to being Super Bowl contenders?
It has only been five years since the Giants last played in (and won) a Super Bowl, even though to some it feels like a lot longer than that. The drought since then included three losing seasons and not a single playoff berth until they finally returned this year. They are most certainly on the upswing coming off an 11-5 season and a wild-card berth in their first season under head coach Ben McAdoo.
Keep him or Dump him: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
The Giants were thrilled in 2014 when they stole Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie out from under the noses of the Jets by swooping in with a five-year, $35 million deal (with about $14 million guaranteed). He was the top-tier cornerback they were looking for at the time and he was just entering his prime. Now, DRC is about to turn 31 and he's the third cornerback on the Giants' depth chart, behind big-money free agent Janoris Jenkins and first-round pick Eli Apple.
Keep him or Dump him: Rashad Jennings
Rashad Jennings came to the Giants as a bargain in 2014 -- an underused, versatile running back that cost only $10 million over four years. He was going to two-way player in the backfield that then-offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo wanted to feature. Three years later, Jennings is about to turn 32 years old and he's averaged just 939 total yards (rushing and receiving) during his three seasons with the Giants. He's due $2.48 million in salary in 2017 and carries a cap number of $3.06 million.
Keep him or Dump him: Victor Cruz
Victor Cruz made a remarkable comeback this season, nearly two full years after suffering a devastating knee injury and one year after needing surgery on his calf. He caught 39 passes for 586 yards and one opening-day touchdown while serving essentially as the Giants' No. 3 receiver. Cruz, 30, took a pay cut from the Giants as a condition of his return in 2016, but he's due $7.4 million in 2017 and carries a salary cap number of $9.4 million.
Do you have anything to declare?
London - Stopped by Customs officers, Oscar Wilde notoriously said he had nothing to declare but his genius. Other passengers, as Jon Frost hilariously recounts, try to sneak through the red and green channels considerably more heavily laden.
