The Scotty Cameron 009 is a very popular head on professional tours, and it’s similar to the Newport you can buy at your local shop. It typically has a slightly wider body with a thicker topline. The heel and toe bumpers are a little larger, more rounded, and a little softer. The flange is a little thicker, and depending on the neck, it can have some softer edges as well.

Sloan's previous best round on the top tour was a 64 at last year's Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico. At 8 under, the Merritt, B.C. golfer was tied with Americans Harold Varner III and Tom Hoge toward the end of the first round. Sloan and Hoge were part of the same threesome.

After opening the par-4 hole with a 294-yard drive the product of Merritt, B.C., knew that to stay competitive in the third round of the RBC Canadian Open on Saturday he'd have to get as near to the pin as possible.
Sloan set for second PGA Tour run
Roger Sloan was channeling a little bit of Clark Griswold as he put up the Christmas lights on his house last week. The only difference was that he was doing it in shorts and under the warm temperatures offered in Houston. FINDLEY LAKE, United States — Canadian golfer Roger Sloan fell off the pace, shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round, as Nelson Ledesma hit a 67 and 22-under overall to capture Web.com Tour's Lecom Health Challenge on Sunday. Sloan, of Merritt, B.C., was tied for fourth entering the final round after shooting an 8-under 64 on Saturday to put him at 14 under for the tournament. He finished in a tie for 20th at 13 under at the event on the PGA Tour's feeder circuit.
Sloan focuses on golf amid distractions galore
If Roger Sloan seems a bit distracted when he tees off Thursday in Columbus, Ohio, at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, the first of four events in the Web.com Tour finals, it’s with good reason. The Merritt, B.C., golfer is, after all, in the hunt for a PGA Tour card with 135 players vying for 25 passes. If he plays well over those four starts, he’ll head back to the big leagues where he played in 2015. But there are a few other pressing matters on his plate as well.
