European Union: EUIPO launches Mediation Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution

In brief Cross-border disputes have become increasingly common. With this in mind, the EUTM Regulation 2017/1001 introduced the possibility of setting up an alternative dispute resolution mechanism at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) to mitigate the costs and uncertainties associated with litigation and provide support to the parties. In November 2023, the Office launched its free-of-charge 'Mediation Centre'.
