Continuous pressure-induced valence and magnetic transitions in ${\mathrm{EuMnSb}}_{2}$

EuMnSb2 is a unique and promising compound with complex magnetism (Eu and Mn sublattices) to realize magnetic control of topological quasiparticles. By applying pressure (P) to this system, we have observed a continuous pressure-induced valence change from Eu2+ to Eu3+. Remarkably, despite the significant valence change in Eu ions, an extremely large increase in the magnetic ordering temperature (TN,Eu) from 21 K at ambient pressure to 180 K at 28.4 GPa is detected.

Abstract Transition-metal oxides provide an excellent platform to generate ground states by tuning the various degrees of freedom via stimuli such as chemical doping. By investigating the electrical, magnetic, and thermodynamic properties of several compositions of the bilayered Sr3(Ru1−xMnx)2O7 with x ≥ 0.36, we complete its x-T phase diagram and unveil a spin-glass regime.

Evidence for topological semimetallicity in a chain-compound TaSe3

Abstract Among one-dimensional transition-metal trichalcogenides, TaSe3 is unconventional in many respects. One is its strong topological semimetallicity as predicted by first-principles calculations. We report the experimental investigations of the electronic properties of one-dimensional-like TaSe3 single crystals.
