Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, I took a typing class in high school. Could type 60 wpm.

Why did you become a journalist?

I was first published in my local paper while still in elementary school. That led to a lifelong love of news.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I was editor of the yearbook.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Read everything you can get your hands on. Internalize the good writing. And always double- and triple-check your facts.
