How is social media changing news?
Social media is democratizing the dissemination of news and providing multiple viewpoints. On the downside, it also harbours fake news.

Amy Townsend (from TRAINWRECK).
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a journalist, you need to have a viewpoint. Yet, you also need to understand both sides of an issue before delivering the viewpoint.

What's your favorite social network?
Twitter, Instagram and Bong.social.

Barack Obama, Barkha Dutt, George Clooney, Paranjoy Guha-Thakurta.
Why did you become a journalist?
I've always wanted to write on issues that mattered to me. I love writing on offbeat topics which mainstream media won't cover.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. However, I wrote poems for my college magazine.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My story for The Naked Truth on how online learning in India is struggling with being inclusive.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Even if you're not associated with a media outlet, keep chasing stories. And never stop writing.

Any time, really.

So many....Scroll, The Wire, The Morning Context, The New Yorker, The Hollywood Reporter, Newslaundry.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
The biggest misconception is this: anyone can write a column on popular culture and lifestyle. Lots of writers miss out on nuance this way.
