Adventure Is Where You Find It This past week I traded the lush landscapes of Puget Sound for Ontario, Oregon, a small farm town near the southern Idaho border. My husband is working a temporary carpenter job in Ontario, and I flew out to visit him. It’s not exactly a major tourist destination. No waterfront, no major retail outlets and not a ton of activities aside from a bowling alley and small movie theater. And yet, somehow, we had one of the most fun weeks we’ve had all year.

Remembering Fire Safety During Fire Season This past week has been a hard one for many in Washington state, as wildfires have displaced thousands of people and burned down hundreds of homes across multiple fires, including several major fires in the Spokane area. My aunt, who lives in Spokane, spent the past week couch-surfing, waiting to find out if her home was still standing in the wake of the Spokane Complex fire.
