She was 100. “Aunt Anne was a wonderful, kind and elegant lady who cared deeply about her family, her company and her country,” said her nephew, Jim Kennedy, who served as Cox Enterprises chief executive officer from 1988 to 2008 and continues his leadership as chairman.

Georgia middle school student advances to spelling bee semifinals

Eighth-grader Sumedh Garimella, of Duluth, is one of 46 students scheduled to compete in the semifinals on Thursday, according to spelling bee officials. The final round of the Washington D.C-area event – which is being broadcast live on ESPN — concludes Thursday night.
