Introduction Sexual selection is a major evolutionary driver of many biological traits in animals, and is important for understanding the anatomy, behavior, and evolution of species and clades. One major indicator of sexual selection is sexual dimorphism where one sex is larger than the other and/or shows some form of exaggerated structure absent in the other, indicating an investment in resources as a means of increasing reproductive success.
