Stig Inge Bjornebye has been appointed as Rangers ' performance director on a permanent basis. The former Norway international acted as a football advisor to club chiefs during the second half of last season. And the Gers hierarchy saw enough in the ex-Liverpool defender to make it a full-time role, reports the Rangers Review. Bjornebye will oversee the performance and academy departments of the club, although his main focus will be on first team matters.

Danny Rohl has left Rangers to become the new head coach of RB Salzburg. News of a potential bombshell departure of the German emerged last week as RB making him their top target to replace the sacked Daniel Beichler. Talks between the clubs took place after former Liverpool boss and Red Bull head of global soccer Jurgen Klopp pushed for Rohl to be the man for the Austrian Bundesliga outfit.

Atalanta have their sights set on Nico Raskin this summer, according to reports in Italy. The Rangers midfielder is currently in the States with the Belgian squad for the World Cup, and came on as a second half sub in their 1-1 draw with Egypt in Seattle. Raskin's Ibrox contract still has another two years left to run, and now would be Gers' best chance of realising maximum value for the ex-Standard Liege star.
