Cobalt complexes have attracted significant attention as catalysts for a variety of transformations, including hydroformylation, carbonylation, and hydrogenation, due to their high reactivity and relatively low cost. (1−7) Recently, visible-light-driven approaches have been the focus for these catalytic reactions. (7−9) As part of these approaches, there is continued interest in discovery of ‘next-generation’ cobalt catalysts supported by phosphine ligands.
