Interview
What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job as a journalist was my position with The News Record as their news reporter, and then I was promoted to news editor.
How is social media changing news?
Many users believe they have what it takes to be a journalist, but few understand the role and responsibility to be that trusted figure.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Journalists play a crucial role in informing their communities, building and maintaining trust, and holding people/institutions accountable.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Trello, Canva, Lightroom, Google Docs, my phone and my laptop!
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist because I love writing and observed a lot of flawed journalism driven by personal opinions and a quest for fame. I aim to be different by focusing on facts, informing my community about important events without injecting my opinion, and avoiding the pursuit of fame.
What's your favorite drink?
Sprite! Or, a nice glass of Riesling.
