Development and validation of dual-time-window readmission prediction models under China’s medical insurance multi-payment reform
Abstract Background: Readmission is an important indicator of healthcare quality, reflecting continuity of care, treatment outcomes, and the quality of discharge management. However, existing readmission prediction studies have primarily focused on 30-day readmission as the primary outcome, with limited attention to differences in the underlying risk mechanisms, predictive performance, and clinical applicability across different readmission time windows.
Job autonomy and career development satisfaction among healthcare professionals: the moderating role of organizational identification
Abstract Background: Under China’s Healthy China strategy and the high-quality development agenda for public hospitals, healthcare professionals’ career development satisfaction has become critical for service quality and workforce stability. However, most existing studies adopt linear frameworks and fail to capture the nonlinear moderating mechanisms between job autonomy and organizational identification, particularly within the institutional context of Chinese public hospitals.
Insurance-related differences in high-intensity care utilization among older patients with cancer
Abstract Background: Health insurance is a key determinant of healthcare utilization, yet its influence on the allocation of high-intensity medical resources under varying levels of clinical need remains poorly understood. Methods: We conducted a retrospective observational study using administrative data from a tertiary hospital in China. The study included 12,916 hospitalized patients aged 60 years or older with a primary diagnosis of cancer in 2024.
Case Report: Sequential high-intensity focused ultrasound and focused ultrasound for cervical and vaginal low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions
Abstract Background: Low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSIL) of the cervix and vagina are generally low-risk with a high likelihood of spontaneous regression, for which conservative management is preferred. However, treatment becomes challenging when patients exhibit persistent symptoms and imaging findings suggestive of malignancy, despite repeated biopsies confirming LSIL.

Engineered Cas12j‐8 is a Versatile Platform for Multiplexed Genome Modulation in Mammalian Cells
1 Introduction Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats-Cas (CRISPR-Cas) systems function as prokaryotic adaptive immunity in bacteria and archaea, defending against viral infections and plasmid transformation.[1, 2] Over the past decade, these systems have been repurposed into versatile genome-editing technologies, with particular advancements in Type II Cas9 and Type V Cas12 systems.[3-5] Unlike Cas9, which requires an additional RNase III protein for precursor crRNA...

The emerging and the expansion of Echinococcus spp. tapeworms in wildlife species and habitats are indeed underrecognized. Here, using infrared camera surveillance followed by morphological and genetic characterization, Echinococcus shiquicus (E. shiquicus), tapeworms were unexpectedly detected from Asian badgers in the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau of China for the first time.
