Calibration evaluates whether a model confidence aligns with its empirical accuracy. Existing studies often compare the calibration of different large language models using global calibration metrics such as Expected Calibration Error and Brier Score. We begin by showing, both theoretically and empirically, that such comparisons are confounded by differences in model accuracy.

Abstract Impaired clearance of amyloid-β (Aβ) contributes to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) pathogenesis, but its upstream modulators remain poorly defined. We report secreted Dickkopf (DKK) proteins—DKK1 through DKK4—as previously unrecognized ligands of low-density lipoprotein receptor–related protein 1 (LRP1), a principal Aβ clearance receptor.
