Service process simplification (SPS) serves as a tool for civil officials to help them accelerate access to public services, decreasing the time, cost, and number of visits (TCV) needed by citizens to use them. This in turn leads to improving service quality and ultimately, ensuring citizen satisfaction. SPS is a unique innovation of the Aspire to Innovate (a2i) program.

As outlined in our piece last week, the grievance redress system (GRS) is a mechanism or platform established by governments, organizations, or institutions to address and resolve complaints, grievances, or concerns raised by individuals or groups. The primary objective of a GRS is to provide a transparent, accessible, and efficient process for handling and resolving grievances of citizens.

The Grievance Redressal System (GRS) is widely recognized as a valuable tool for promoting good governance where good governance encompasses the efficient and responsible management of public affairs, organizations, and institutions. According to Rehman Sobhan, ‘Good governance is the exercise of power and authority in a manner that is transparent, accountable, participatory, equitable, and responsive to the needs of the people it serves.
