Jose Iniguez’s career has taken him all over the country and through several different disciplines before landing him in the limelight as the operatic frontman of a full-size traveling symphony. The CWU alumnus and his award-winning organization, Encanto Arts, were featured in a June 30 article in the Ellensburg Daily Record, highlighting his lifelong passion for the mariachi music he and his family enjoyed while working the orchards of Mattawa during his youth.

For 51 years, Farrell Hall has hosted a broad variety of Central Washington University programs, from Sociology to Law and Justice, and many more. Constructed in 1975 and named after Distinguished Alumna Corinne Farrell (’53), an internationally recognized bone cancer researcher, the building is scheduled for demolition this summer, coinciding with the opening of the new North Academic Commons (NAC). Students, faculty, and staff gathered on campus June 5 for a special Farewell to Farrell event.

Jordan Taylor’s path to creating their own future began with following in the footsteps of others. As a viola player at Roosevelt High School in Seattle, Taylor’s sights were already set on the world of music performance and instruction. During junior year, their class took a field trip to Central Washington University that would end up giving Taylor a clearer direction about how they would nurture their craft following graduation.
