Age-related loss of Y chromosome is associated with mortality after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Abstract While loss of Y chromosome (LOY), a common somatic alteration with aging, has been associated with cardiovascular diseases, its specific impact on ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains underexplored. This study enrolled 928 males undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention for STEMI to investigate the impact of LOY in blood cells on all-cause mortality. LOY was measured in males using droplet digital polymerase chain reaction technique.
Effect of clonal hematopoiesis on plaque morphology and prognosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction - Genome Medicine
This prospective cohort study was conducted in a large-volume national tertiary care institute (Fuwai Hospital, Beijing) specializing in cardiovascular diseases. Between March 2017 and January 2020, 1403 patients (age ≥ 18 years) who underwent emergent coronary angiography and CHIP examinations due to the diagnosis of STEMI (symptom onset ≤ 24 h before presentation) were prospectively enrolled.

Introduction Current guidelines from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (2018) emphasize intensive lipid-lowering therapy for the secondary prevention of ischemic stroke of atherosclerotic origin following transient ischemic attack (TIA) or ischemic stroke.1,2 Despite these established recommendations, residual cardiovascular risk remains substantial, particularly among patients with concurrent metabolic diseases.
