Correlation between viral infections in male semen and infertility: a literature review - Virology Journal

Our findings revealed the presence of 40 viruses in human semen, with some lacking data on sexual transmission. Among these 40 viruses, many cause chronic or latent infections such as herpes viruses and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), while others cause acute infections such as zika virus (ZIKV), ebola virus (EBOV), and chikungunya virus (CHIKV). Among the viruses causing acute infections, only ZIKV and EBOV have been systematically studied beyond case reports.

The Cross Talk between Cellular Senescence and Melanoma: From Molecular Pathogenesis to Target Therapies

Abstract : Simple Summary Melanoma is a dreadful type of skin cancer with a poor response to therapy. Senescent cells have been found to accumulate with age and may contribute to the occurrence and development of melanoma. This review aims to provide an overview of skin aging and melanoma, including the molecular mechanisms, microenvironmental factors, and therapeutic strategies. In addition, some potential common targets between melanoma and cell senescence will be also discussed.

Abstract : Accumulating evidence indicates that the increased burden of senescent cells (SCs) in aged organisms plays an important role in many age-associated diseases. The pharmacological elimination of SCs with “senolytics” has been emerging as a new therapy for age-related diseases and extending the healthy lifespan.
