A landmark study has produced the most detailed atlas of venomous snakes ever assembled, finding that climate change is pushing medically important snake species into new territories worldwide and increasing the overlap between snakes and people in several densely populated regions. Published in PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases on 21 May,1 the study mapped the distributions of all 508 medically important snake species worldwide at a resolution of one square kilometre.
