FAIRFIELD – A commercial real estate company and a developer are seeking investors  to develop a 300-acre industrial campus in northeast Fairfield that will include a 150 MW data center with the potential for expansion, according to a set of presentation slides obtained by the Vallejo Sun. The project would be built between Vanden Road and North Gate Road just within Fairfield’s northeastern boundary, not far from residences at the outer edge of Vacaville.

Several incumbents decline to run again in November elections for Vallejo, Benicia

SOLANO COUNTY – While several candidates on the Vallejo City Council and the school boards were up for reelection this year, many of them declined to run again, clearing the way for some fresh faces to join after the Nov. 3 election. On the Vallejo City Council, Councilmember Peter Bregenzer declined to run and three new candidates are running for his seat. And on the school board, Trustees Carlos Flores and Glenn Amboy also declined to run, and five candidates are running for the two seats.

Vallejo settles former fire captain's gender discrimination lawsuit for $5M following jury verdict

VALLEJO – The city of Vallejo agreed to pay $5 million to settle a former fire captain’s lawsuit alleging that she faced retaliation in response to her complaints about gender discrimination at the department. A jury found the city of Vallejo liable for claims brought by former Vallejo fire Capt. Melisse Leitzke on July 31. After the verdict, the city agreed to settle Leitzke’s lawsuit before proceeding to the damages phase of the case.
