Ryan Jones

Ryan Jones is an editor with TAPinto Scotch Plains-Fanwood and TAPinto Raritan Bay covering local news, community stories, and high school athletics. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Media & Communications from Drew University, graduating cum laude. During his time at Drew, he was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association’s honor society, as well as the National College Athlete Honor Society.

While his academic background is rooted in media and communications rather than traditional journalism, Jones has developed a practical approach to modern newsroom workflows. He focuses on leveraging emerging tools and technology—including advanced AI prompting—to streamline reporting, research, and content production while maintaining accuracy and clarity.

Through a meticulous approach to prompting and editing, Jones has built a system that allows him to produce consistent local coverage efficiently, helping highlight community achievements, school programs, and student-athletes throughout the Scotch Plains-Fanwood and Raritan Bay areas.
