MACON, Ga. (WGXA) - In a letter to Mayor Lester Miller and Commissioners, Bibb County Sheriff David Davis asked them to make plans for a new jail a priority. Davis says the recent escape of four inmates has put renewed focus on the current jail's issues, but adds that it wasn't the only factor in their escape. Sheriff says he hopes a new jail will be considered in future plans such as the projects that could be included on the next SPLOST ballot.

MACON, Ga. (WGXA) -- Wesleyan College raised its flags Thursday, to celebrate its return to downtown Macon. The flags were added to College Street, marking the School's original campus. Wesleyan was founded in 1836 and operated on College Street for 90 years before moving to North Macon. The event kicked off the beginning of Alumnae Weekend, where hundreds of previous graduates return to celebrate their Alma Mater.

PERRY, Ga. (WGXA) -- Police are investigating a robbery and shooting. Perry Police say the 21-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint and then shot in front of his home. The shooter then ran into the house and ransacked the place. It happened in a trailer park off of Gaines Dr. The victim has been taken to the hospital.
