What was your first job as a journalist?
I had a weekly page for teenagers in a local newspaper.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Becoming a journalist has been a lifelong passion. I'll never forget the first time I went to the show, bought a newspaper and saw my byline.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter has been a huge part of my career, and when living in rural Ireland allowed me to connect with people I would never have otherwise.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't give up. Ask for help. I'll be forever grateful to the people who tolerated my emails and efforts to break into the industry.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Walking my two golden retrievers.
