Fecal microbiota composition concerning body mass index and early-life factors in Mexican preschool-aged children: a cross-sectional study
The preschool and school community is by far the least studied (Derrien, Alvarez & De Vos, 2019). This study examined 84 preschool children from underweight (UW), normal weight (NW), and overweight (OW), focusing on retrospective clinical data on perinatal and postnatal early factor exposures by the children, to explore patterns with their current body mass index, diet and their implications for the gut microbiota.

Establishing a new methodology for annelid studies: a biometric study of the ragworm Hediste diversicolor (Müller, 1776)
Polychaetes are a diverse group of annelid worms, many of which bear bristle-like structures called chaetae. The anterior region of polychaetes comprises the peristomium, which houses the mouth and various sensory structures, and the prostomium, which contains numerous sensory organs and structures that contribute to the characterisation of different families. Polychaetes can be divided into two main clades: sedentary and errant (Magalhães et al., 2021).

Are northern communities an overlooked source of microplastics and tire wear particles in the Arctic?
Iqaluit, Nunavut (63.7467°N, 68.5170°W), is situated in Koojesse inlet in the northwest corner of Frobisher Bay in northern Canada. Iqaluit is the largest community in Nunavut with an area of 52.5 km2 and a population of approximately 8,000. The community has few paved roads, no traffic lights, no stormwater drains, and <8,000 registered vehicles (dominated by trucks, all-terrain vehicles, and snowmobiles).

Effects of bortezomib on intracellular antioxidant and apoptosis in HepG2cells
Proteasome inhibitors are a promising class of compounds that reduce the ability of cancer cells to cope with the increase in by-products obtained from protein synthesis, such as the accumulation of misfolded proteins, leading to cell death (Manasanch & Orlowski, 2017). The bortezomib, a potent proteasome inhibitor, is a boronic acid dipeptide that induces cancer cell death (Park et al., 2018).

Genetic analysis of Pinna rudis L 1758 (Mollusca, Bivalvia, Pinnidae) in the Northwest Cabo Verde Islands (Central-East Atlantic)
This study provides a comprehensive analysis of genetic variation in P. rudis by combining data from both this and previous studies across the Mediterranean Sea, Macaronesia and coastal Senegal. This approach enhances our understanding of large-scale genetic patterns and allows us to revisit previous phylogenetic analyses of the Pinna genus conducted by Lemer et al. (2014).

Scrutinising an inscrutable bark-nesting ant: Exploring cryptic diversity in the Rhopalomastix javana (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) complex using DNA barcodes, genome-wide MIG-seq and geometric morphometrics
The practice of identifying and differentiating species forms the bedrock of myriad research areas in the biological sciences. It bears critical implications on conservation, biodiversity monitoring, pest and invasive species management, even environmental impact assessments and climate change (Wilson, 2004).
Effects of extracts from various parts of invasive Solidago species on the germination and growth of native grassland plant species
Conclusions and Practical Implications Our results confirm that sensitivity to allelopathic effect expressed in germination and seedling growth differ significantly among tested grassland plant species, and it is possible to indicate the species relatively resistant as Schedonorus pratensis, Lolium perenne, Trifolium pratense, Daucus carota, and Leucanthemum vulgare which should be favoured for site restoration.

Late Jurassic teeth of plesiosauroid origin from the Owadów-Brzezinki Lägerstatte, Central Poland
Methods and terminology All teeth have been prepared manually. Specimens were coated with sublimed ammonium chloride to accentuate the fine structure of the enamel, and then photographed using a Nikon D5 (55 mm f/2.8) digital camera (Figs. 2A–2O). The collected material is housed at the Institute of Paleobiology, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw (ZPAL R.11).

A taxonomic revision of the Sinopterus complex (Pterosauria, Tapejaridae) from the Early Cretaceous Jehol Biota, with the new genus Huaxiadraco
Phylogenetic analysis Our search produced three minimum-length trees, with 551 steps, ensemble consistency index of 0.593 and ensemble retention index of 0.860. In our strict consensus tree (Fig. 21), we recovered a clade of Jehol tapejarids, in which the clade Eopteranodon lii + Sinopterus dongi is the sister-group of ‘H.’ corollatus. This Jehol clade (comprising Eopteranodon lii, Sinopterus dongi, and ‘H.’ corollatus) is supported by the following unambiguous synapomorphies: char.
