A person has died following an altercation with Airdrie RCMP outside the town of Irricana on Friday, July 3, Around 6:20 p.m., Airdrie RCMP were dispatched to an open-line 911 call on Highway 9 in Irricana. RCMP arrived on scene and located a male suspect. An altercation occurred with police in which at least one officer discharged their service weapon, striking the suspect. Life-saving measures were initiated but the suspect was ultimately declared deceased on scene.
