Cardiorenal syndrome is associated with excess morbidity and mortality in heart failure, and this is not predictably improved by either cardiac transplantation or implantation of left ventricular assist device (LVAD). There is minimal data evaluating renal biopsy findings and decline in renal function in these patients.
