Abstract Partner imprisonment impacts women socially, emotionally, and physically. This paper explores six women’s experiences of partner imprisonment for violent crime in the UK using Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Four main themes were identified: The Prisoners Partner, Prison as Savior, Behind Bars on The Outside and Post Experience Growth.

INTRODUCTION Polysubstance use (PSU) refers broadly to a pattern of diverse drug involvement that includes the use of two or more substances [1]. In the current overdose crisis, PSU substantially contributes to fatalities [2]. The USA is experiencing an increase in overdose deaths associated with PSU, specifically stimulant and opioid co-use. In 2021, 79% of cocaine overdoses involved opioids and 66% of psychostimulant deaths involved opioids [3]. Other PSU patterns also contribute to overdose.
