A two‐phase volume of fluid approach to model rigid‐perfectly plastic granular materials
1 INTRODUCTION Granular flow problems characterized by large deformations are a concern in various domains, encompassing coastal/ocean engineering and geotechnical engineering. Applications of the model are, for example, embankment failures, debris flows, landslides, scouring or failure of granular bulk carried by vessels. This paper aims at a two-phase granular flow model supported by the Drucker–Prager yield criterion within a Finite Volume (FV)-Volume-of-Fluid (VoF) fluid solver.
Epidemiology of patch tested patients with permanent tattoos-A comparative analysis of 9693 IVDK patients (2020-2022)
Permanent tattooing is the invasive introduction of tattoo ink (pigments) into the dermis. The ink and aftercare cosmetics applied on pre-damaged skin may contain skin sensitisers. To identify patient characteristics and the pattern of sensitisation in tattooed patients patch tested within the Information Network of Departments of Dermatology (IVDK).
GHOST-NOT and GHOST-YES: Two Programs for Generating high-speed Biosensors with Randomized Oligonucleotide Binding Sites with NOT or YES Boolean Logic Functions Based on Experimentally Validated Algorithms
2.2. The GHOST-NOT algorithm The GHOST-NOT algorithm has 12 computational steps annotated below as 1.x. 1.1. The GHOST-NOT program produces arbitrary RNΑ ΟBS sequences, amongst 20 and 24 nucleοtides lοng, according to the user's input, that does not have four or more consecutive identical nucleotides. 1.2. It runs the produced ΟBS in the RNAfold –p to calculate the partition function (PF) for RNΑ fοlding. If the PF is outside the -0.2 and -3 range, it recreates the ΟBS.

In-Vitro activities of tetracyclines, macrolides, fluoroquinolones and clindamycin against Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma ssp. isolated in Germany over 20 years
Introduction Mycoplasma hominis and ureaplasmas frequently colonize the genital tract of humans. They are associated with genitourinary tract infections (urethritis, cervicitis, cystitis, bacterial vaginosis) and appear to have an aetiological role in postpartum infections of mothers and newborns [1x1Kechagia, N, Bersimis, S, and Chatzipanagiotou, S. Incidence and antimicrobial susceptibilities of genital mycoplasmas in outpatient women with clinical vaginitis in Athens, Greece.
Allergic contact dermatitis in psoriasis
Summary Recent research suggests that people with the skin disease psoriasis may be at less risk of developing contact dermatitis, which is an eczema‐like reaction in response to the skin coming into contact with an irritant (irritant contact dermatitis) or allergen (allergic contact dermatitis, or ACD). This study looked at the prevalence of ACD specifically, in 2387 people with psoriasis who had been patch tested, compared to 161 981 patch tested people without psoriasis.
The frequency of specific contact allergies is reduced in psoriasis patients
Earlier studies suggested an inverse association between contact allergy and psoriasis, although the results of clinical studies have been inconsistent. Gene‐expression studies in human contact allergy focusing on immune responses revealed nickel being an inducer of Th1/Th17 and some Th22 immune polarization, whereas fragrances were found to promote a Th2‐dominated immune activation.
Impact of DYNAMO Observations on NASA GEOS-5 Reanalyses and the Representation of MJO initiation
This study examines the impact of the Dynamics of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (DYNAMO) campaign in-situ observations on NASA GEOS-5 reanalyses and the improvements gained thereby in the representation of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) initiation processes.
