1 Introduction Hydraulic well stimulation of heavy oil reservoirs is a complex process, which was introduced to enhance the productivity of steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) [1]. By injecting high-pressure fluid into both injector and producer wells over a short period of time, the porosity and permeability of the zone connecting the well pair increase. Consequently, less steam is needed, the oil production rate increases, and steam circulation time decreases [2].
