Four people were sent to the hospital following a crash near Owings, Maryland, early Sunday afternoon involving two pickup trucks. A spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel County Police Department said the crash happened around 1 p.m. Sunday on Md. Route 260/Chesapeake Beach Road, near the boundary between Anne Arundel and Calvert counties. Two children suffered life-threatening injuries and were flown to a D.C. trauma center by two Maryland State Police medevac helicopters.

WASHINGTON — A boy is in serious condition after getting hit by an SUV while crossing Interstate 370 in Maryland around midnight. Maryland State Police said a group of juveniles were walking across the highway near Washingtonian Boulevard in Gaithersburg. Police shut down the westbound side of the highway for hours to investigate. The driver of the SUV stayed on scene and DUI has been ruled out.

WASHINGTON — A pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Montgomery County, Maryland, early Saturday, officials said. Montgomery County police said the pedestrian was struck in the intersection of Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Officials said a collision reconstruction team was on the scene. Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue were closed for hours as police investigated the incident.
