M Health Fairview Clinic – Rice Street is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a community event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The event features free food from Nanny’s Kitchen, produce from Food is Medicine partners, health screenings, dental cleanings from Community Dental Care, giveaways and a groundbreaking for a new Urban Roots community garden. Scheduled speakers include Mayor Melvin Carter, Attorney General Keith Ellison and Fairview Health Services CEO and President James Hereford.

City promotes new off-leash dog area with ‘Yappy Hour’ at Kellogg Mall Park Original

St. Paul Parks and Rec is hosting a free “Yappy Hour” for dogs and their people 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at its newest dog park downtown. The city last month fenced in a modest off-leash dog park at Kellogg Mall Park. Parks and Rec public service manager Clare Cloyd said residents for years have asked the department to carve out a space for dogs. “Yappy Hour is our way of promoting the new dog park, which is there for residents and visitors,” she said.

St. Paul: Como Friends announces Katie Hill as next president Original

Katie Hill will serve as Como Friends’ next president. Hill will succeed the interim President Jackie Sticha. Hill currently serves as the vice president of engagement and chief innovation officer at Milkweed Editions, a national independent publisher. In her role, she “oversaw communications, organizational planning, retail and earned revenue strategies, and cross-functional team leadership.” Como Friends is the nonprofit partner of Como Park Zoo & Conservatory in St. Paul.
