Sally Abrahms
Sally Abrahms’s Biography
I'm a boomer passionate about the issues of aging I write about--and know about first-hand. I'm a professional in the field, but also a mother of adult children and past and current caregiver to elderly parents and in-laws.
My areas of expertise are caregiving, housing and work, among others. I write for national magazines, newspapers, websites and companies.
My work has appeared in TIME, Newsweek (former Boston stringer), The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, AARP, The Boston Globe, Family Circle, Ladies' Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Parade and online at newsweek.com, msnbc.com, aarp.org, huffingtonpost.com, forbes.com and PBS' nextavenue.org.
I blog weekly for AARP and have contributed to the Huffington Post's over 50 section and to Forbes.
I have won writing awards (the min Award), a piece I helped produce for "20/20" was nominated for an Emmy, and I am the recipient of two fellowships on aging: one from the New York Times Foundation, the other from the MetLife Foundation.
I've covered celebrities (Muhammad Ali, among them for US Magazine), incest for the Los Angeles Times, legal trends for Columbia Pictures
and multigenerational housing for the AARP Bulletin.
In more than 30 years in the business, I have never missed a deadline.
