Creating culture through Oscar-worthy entertainment
This week’s Oscars marked the end of a particularly gripping awards season. To make a terrible pun, the races for the gongs have been one battle after another, driven by the sheer quality of talent and work coming out of Hollywood. And it's a conversation that’s broken free of cinephile circles. Audiences don’t think in channels, they follow worlds and intellectual property they love.
Letter to the editor: OU's response to Bible-based essay grade leaves graduate instructors vulnerable
I am writing to express concern over the lack of protections afforded to graduate student employees at OU. This weekend, a transgender graduate student instructor was placed on administrative leave over a complaint filed by a student on religious discrimination grounds. Through this student’s efforts, the graduate instructor’s attempt to grade an essay has been transformed into a new front in an ongoing national culture war.

Up to 10% of British students may defer their university places, UCAS chief officer says
Up to 10% of British students may defer their university places, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) has said. In a worst-case scenario, UCAS found that up to 46,000 fewer students could start their studies in Autumn 2020, compared to Autumn 2019.
Review: 'The Invisible Man'
It seems now more than ever, the film industry is turning to the literary world to find its stories. The big studios feel adaptations is where the money is. So, whenever I sit down to watch a translation of a beloved book to the big screen, I must admit, I’m always sceptical. It is essential to ask the questions; do we need this and do we need it now. For Australian director Leigh Whannel’s sci-fi-horror, The Invisible Man, that is a resounding yes and yes.

Two Paul Rudd's Better Than One? Perhaps not.
Despite the pleasure of having two Paul Rudd’s for the price of one, Timothy Greenberg’s Living with Yourself does little more than add to the ever-growing list of Netflix series which operate perfectly in companionship with ‘if you loved this than you should try this’ series but struggle to stand up entirely on their own. Co-directed by Little Miss Sunshine’s Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Living with Yourself offers a fairly engaging premise.

Co-directed by Little Miss Sunshine’s Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Living with Yourself offers a fairly engaging premise.

Sam Bird column: Damage limitation for Ferrari's WEC campaign
The North American leg of the WEC world tour is done. Mexico and Austin saw us get a fourth and third place finish respectively, and while not what our massively competitive team ideally wanted, they were still probably the optimum results we could achieve under the circumstances. It also gives us useful points and keeps us in touch in the LMGTE Pro standings as we consolidated second position. COTA last week was a tough race.

The weekend started out positively in free practice despite a few small problems on our car with the brake bias. We made some changes, and by Saturday morning we were extremely competitive and bang on the pace.
