Measuring US workers’ capacity to adapt to AI-driven job displacement
Introduction Extensive research has investigated the “exposure” of occupations to artificial intelligence (AI). While definitions vary, studies using exposure measures seek to estimate the extent to which AI systems can help complete the work tasks of different jobs. But these measures are not predictions of job displacement. Rather, they provide signals about where AI’s complex labor market effects are most likely to emerge first.
Export Controls and Export Promotion
Washington has made it clear that retaining AI dominance over China is both an economic and national security imperative. In November 2024, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission recommended a “Manhattan Project-like program” to achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI) before China. Two months later, the Stargate project was announced, mobilizing $500 billion in private capital to strengthen American AI infrastructure and energy production.

AI’s impact on income inequality in the US
According to one survey, about half of Americans think that the increased use of AI will lead to greater income inequality and a more polarized society. Roughly two thirds think the government should take action to prevent the loss of jobs due to AI, and 46% of young Americans think that it is at least somewhat likely that AI will replace their job in the next five years.
Reimagining the Wind Energy Industry with Distributed Manufacturing
The energy sector is witnessing a transformation. While the demand for conventional energy sources decreased, use of renewable energy has surged, with a projected worth of green energy set to reach up to $2.172 billion by 2030. Continued success for renewables demands consistency, efficiency, flexibility, speed, and reliability being built to specifications. Additive manufacturing assures supply chain resilience and provides a path for critical uptime in the renewable energy space.
Marketing shouldn’t cost the earth
Changing perceptions What’s the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about global warming? The typical coal-fuelled power station? Skies full of flights? Deforestation in the Amazon? A room full of servers doesn’t often make the cut, but with the internet and digital systems accounting for around 3.7% of global greenhouse emissions, it’s a huge (and growing) source of energy consumption.
