Six days a week from noon to 8 p.m., Alex Bautista can be found sitting behind the counter at Georgetown Records in the Roma neighborhood of Mexico City (CDMX). Spinning his favorite jams on a desktop turntable, he often hands an old-fashioned address book to the latest Amoeba employee to stop in, or talks business with a friend on a well-worn couch against the back wall.

Pancreatic cancer has a survival rate of only 9 percent, making it the third deadliest cancer in the United States. This is partly due to how difficult the early symptoms of this disease are to identify. A new study by the UW’s Ubiquitous Computing Lab (Ubicomplab) looks at a non-invasive procedure that has accessibility potential for those at risk who would otherwise have to go through an involved, complex procedure they might not consider.
