Nepal, June 24 -- The global market for high-integrity carbon credits is in the grip of a peculiar crisis. The corporate demand is surging, however, verified credits are running dry, and Nepal is unusually well placed to respond to it. Corporate climate commitments rose 227 percent in 2025. Credit retirements, which is often used as a measure of actual market demand, have declined. Serious buyers are looking for verified, nature-based emission reductions.
