Identifying biomarkers for treatment of uveal melanoma by T cell engager using a QSP model - npj Systems Biology and Applications
Abstract Uveal melanoma (UM), the primary intraocular tumor in adults, arises from eye melanocytes and poses a significant threat to vision and health. Despite its rarity, UM is concerning due to its high potential for liver metastasis, resulting in a median survival of about a year after detection. Unlike cutaneous melanoma, UM responds poorly to immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) due to its low tumor mutational burden and PD-1/PD-L1 expression.
Quantitative systems pharmacology modeling of macrophage‐targeted therapy combined with PD‐L1 inhibition in advanced NSCLC
WHAT IS THE CURRENT KNOWLEDGE ON THE TOPIC? QSP models have shown their potential to make efficacy predictions for novel drug combinations in immuno-oncology. Macrophage-targeted treatments have shown a promising effect on tumor eradication in mice. WHAT QUESTION DID THIS STUDY ADDRESS? With a quantitative systems pharmacology model, this study predicts how macrophage-targeted therapies would perform in combination with immunotherapy. WHAT DOES THIS STUDY ADD TO OUR KNOWLEDGE?
