The Ontario Reign hold on after a late third-period goal to snap a cold streak and get back in the win column.
Four things that stood out in Ontario Reign's 3-2 win over Bakersfield
Quinton Byfield’s overtime winner caps off the Ontario Reign’s comeback, beating the Bakersfield Condors 3-2 on Sunday. The win gives the Reign 31 points (15-6-2-1) which is second in the Pacific Division. Bakersfield is 8-8-3-3 and by winning percentage is in seventh place.
Kings Training Camp Storylines: Prospects, Athanasiou, & More
The Los Angeles Kings’ training camp is now in full swing, with new and young players fighting for their roster spots, and established players readying themselves for another season. Yesterday I recapped some of the important storylines from day one, including line combinations, fringe players fighting for spots, and more. Day two brought a similar level of intensity, along with a few surprises.
Kings Development Camp Reveals Prospects Pushing for NHL Roster Spot
Recently the Los Angeles Kings hosted their first development camp since 2019. It featured several of the team’s top prospects, including Brandt Clarke, Alex Turcotte, Quinton Byfield, and more. Unfortunately, Turcotte and Byfield saw limited time, as injuries took both players out of camp early on. Star prospect Arthur Kaliyev also missed camp due to an undisclosed personal reason.
Kings’ Prospect Pool Alone Makes a Pretty Impressive Roster
The Los Angeles Kings have what many consider to be the best prospect pool in the NHL. The team boasts an impressive group of young players at nearly every position, making for a very bright future. Though the team has struggled over the past few seasons, the anticipation of what is to come has made the rebuilding process much more tolerable for fans. The goal of putting together a lineup of prospects only 23 and under was to take a glimpse into what the future of the Kings might look like.
Slow Start for Reign; Development Going Well
The Los Angeles Kings have arguably the best prospect system in the NHL. They have incredible depth down the middle, with names like Quinton Byfield, Alex Turcotte, and Akil Thomas, just to name a few. The team also has a solid group of wingers and defensemen to go along with the next generation of centers, such as Arthur Kaliyev, Samuel Fagemo, and Tobias Bjornfot. For LA, their list of prospects simply goes on and on.
5 Reasons Los Angeles Kings Fans Should Temper 2020-21 Expectations
After missing the playoffs, the Los Angeles Kings enjoyed a fruitful offseason which saw them select second overall in 2020’s NHL Entry Draft. L.A. has arguably the best prospect system of any team, and it won’t be long before the new generation of Kings’ stars prove themselves. The Covid-shortened 2020-21 season is wide open to any team, with just 56 games slated for each club. With that said, Kings fans shouldn’t get too far ahead of themselves.
