A 27-year-old Caucasian female inpatient at a regional hospital began reporting chest and flank pain four hours after a normal vaginal delivery of her first child. The chest x-ray, CT pulmonary angiogram, and renal ultrasound performed prior to discharge following an emergency department (ED) presentation that did not detect any abnormalities.

To the Editor Health-Related quality-of-life (HRQoL) is an important component of the allergic morbidity suffered by patients. In contrast to the “direct” allergic morbidity experienced as part of the allergic reaction itself, “indirect” morbidity stems from the potential risk of reaction in the future and subsequent effects on patients' experience and participation in life.
