JOURNALIST AND HUMAN RIGHTS SPECIALIST
Freelance journalist, editor and author with 18 years of experience in public interest reporting. Human Rights specialist with a track record of projects both as a researcher and as an advocacy person at a parliamentary level. Contributor for Global Insight, the flagship magazine of the International Bar Association, on subjects related to human rights, the rule of law and access to justice. Member of the journalistic unit of the NGO Blueprint for Free Speech. Author of research-based reports to support advocacy at a parliamentary level, with a particular focus on media freedom and the right to know. Author of a book on the Julian Assange case written after following the case in court for five years and documenting the complex series of threats posed by his prosecution for media freedom, the right to a fair trial, free speech and other critical human rights issues. Past professional experiences include the design and supervision of marketing campaigns for World-class speakers' live events within the team of an international market leader in the field of personal development.

As a Sardinian language poet, Sara Chessa was awarded third place in the 2021 edition of the Montanaru Literary Prize in Desulo (Sardinia, Italy).
